Mom’s Day

Mel and Mom after picking and pulling gear, Naknek

Happy Birthday to you! You have the glue that binds our family together and have created life-changing miracles by expecting nothing less than miracles. These expectations have been at work when we have needed them most.

I wish I could be there to enjoy your special day with you, but we will celebrate soon and soon after that we will be out on the water together fishing like we have done so many years before. If I could find it in Juneau, I would buy you a bottle of one of your favorites – Andrew Will’s Sorella Champoux Vineyard. Perhaps we can find a bottle in Anchorage. The winery website finishes its description of the wine in a way that could be describing you: “The wine’s intensity and elegance is highlighted by its rich layering of sweetness and silky tannins.” I am so fortunate to be your daughter and be a part of all the layers that you have to offer.

I love you and have a great day!
