I’ve been having fun getting out with my kids on skis. It is pure pleasure watching them build up their skills and innovate in their own ways. Every time my son goes down a hill on his cross-country skis I remind him to bend his knees so his body can brace itself for the acceleration. Oliver took the knee bending to an extreme by assuming a telemark stance of sorts. It was pretty cool. He looked like a ski jumper coming in for a landing. Mari had plenty of time to fool around while I was watching over her brother and at some point she blew past us on a downhill with her skis pointing backwards. It was quite impressive and surprising and I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard. I have managed to capture some fun video of them, but am stingy to upgrade so that I can stream video directly from my blog. If you would like to see some of the clips, I think that this link will get you there.
For those of you in ski country, I wish you many more fun days this season.
